STATEMENT
Our urban existence is precarious and this body of work highlights the volatile, narrow line, the balancing act we perform on a daily basis to keep our lives together.
The composite works are designed to speak about the need to nourish the soul and to evoke a sensation of teetering, recognizing that we are always on the brink.
The elevated vessel forms refer to the inner sanctum, the home, nourishment, spirituality and the higher ambitions contained within.
The bases of the pieces are formal, structured and architectural. With measured proportions and geometric figures they refer to the infrastructure and discipline needed to support and maintain the vessel above.
The crackle glazes trace our individual blue print, like prints on fingers or lines on the palms of our hands, similar but always unique and individual.
