STATEMENT
Since graduating with a Diploma of Art and Design in 1992, Fisher’s work has developed toward impressionist realism. The influence of local artists and joining the Pastel Society of WA several years ago was integral to Fisher defining her style.
Fisher’s paintings capture the immediacy of the subject. This has led to a preferred use of pastels, acrylic, gouache and their combination. The colourful palette creates the spontaneity and freshness depicting the light and colours of Western Australia.
The process of impressionism has recently evolved to successful abstraction for Fisher, particularly when using the acrylic medium. This diversity in technique maintains vibrancy, a constant element in Fisher’s work.
